28th–29th—Field Day, Chimney Point
Once again,thanks to the good folks at the Chimney Point Historical Site, we will be setting up our "emergency communications" equipment at the base of the Crown Point Bridge at Chimney Point in Addison. Find us by following Rte 125 W, or Rte 17S, to the Chimney Point site on Saturday and/or Sunday, the last full weekend in June. We'll be open for business from 2PM Saturday to 2PM Sunday. This is an opportunity to see what ham radio can do, and to try your hand at making country-wide radio contacts, under emergency power conditions. No experience necessary, just a healthy dose of curiosity!

January '08—Happy New Year!

14th—Entry Level (Technician) Class 6:30 PM Pittsford
Sponsored by Green Mountain Wireless Society, and held in Pittsford at St. Alphonsus Parish Hall (in a lower-level classroom), Route 7. The class will run for 6 consecutive weeks (Jan 14–Feb.18), Monday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by an exam on the 25th. Other than the book and the exam, There are is no charge for the class series itself, the recommended text will be the ARRL Technician book ($25 from ARRL order online or by phone). There is an exam fee for the License ($14). Note that exam night, Feb.25 at 6:30 PM, an open VE session will be held for all levels of examination for anyone ready to upgrade. 25th–—Addison County Public Safety Day
VSP Troop C headquarters at the Public Safety Buikding on Ret 7 in New Haven, Vermont. Displays and booths providing information to the public about the array of public safety services available to Addison County residents. Included will be ACARA and Addison County ARES demonstrations of the emcomm capabilities of ham radio. 10AM to 7PM. Admisssion is free.
17th–18th—STARC 2007 SUMMER HAMFEST
